Tasty Tuesday: Prunana Smoothie

Let's make something Tasty!

Need something healthy, satisfying, and sweet?  Try this hearty smoothie--great after a morning workout or as a daytime snack.  The recipe is super simple!

                                                            3/4 Cup of Prunes
                                                            1 Banana
                                                            1 Cup of Water

You've got quite a few options with this, too!  You can cut up and freeze your bananas first to give it a frosty smoothness, or you can add some ice for a crunchy chill.  You can even substitute a different liquid, such as soy, almond, or dairy milk (but it's pretty darn rich with just water).

Cut, measure, throw it in the blender!

While there's controversy about the health benefits of cinnamon, some studies suggest that it can help lower cholesterol and blood sugar.  Add it in for a flavor boost and bonus benefits!

Blend everything on high until it's reached your desired consistency.  Ta-da~!

1 Serving Contains:
                                                            1378mg Potassium
                                                            12.1g Fiber
                                                            4.3g Protein
64g Sugar (it's natural, but still a lot, so be careful!)

Add some whey protein as a bonus!

Fatty☆Friday

Just dropping in for a tiny Friday food post~

Some CornNut Muffins (original concept) I made on Wednesday morning. They had peanuts, cashews, pecans, and walnuts (and some other secret ingredients that I might reveal in the future). They came out superawesome. I was so pleased.

Then last night for dinner I made Tuna Tacos and Spanish rice. I was in a hurry, so I used a seasoning packet for the taco fill (tuna, black beans, corn), and a rice package that was also preseasoned, but I typically prefer to season it myself. It was actually too spicey 。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。

☆tasty-tip☆: Use spinach instead of plain lettuce when you're looking for some leafy action, for added flavour and nutritional value!

Chrissoween Promo Party 2011

We recently had a super duper fun party- a Chrissoween party - to celebrate that we finally put some items up on our Etsy! (And also because we really just wanted to party!) What is Chrissoween? Christmas + Halloween - the combination of two of the best holidays!

We started setting up the night before, putting up some spookier decorations to go with the festive Christmas decorations already up at Grimmy's house. The first step was rearranging some furniture, and setting up some tables the cat lounge

One of our main decorations was this soon to be spooky tree!

And of course the tree box needed a very thorough investigation. By everyone.

Kitty...

Bynx...

And Dusty.

The cats did such a great job helping us set up and decorate.

The weren't in the way at all. (<--sarcasm)

☆Let's see what else happened!☆

Fatty♥Friday

Today turned out to be a reasonably nice day for me.  After being completely unmotivated at work, the wife and I had a ☆delicious☆ dinner at Casa Blanca.

Camarones Vallarta.  I typically don't care for saucy things, or cheese sauces at all, but this crap is SO delicious.  The sauce is not overly cheesy and not too terribly rich.  Also a surprising treasure, because I usually keep cheese as far away from my broccoli as possible.
Another fun thing about Casa Blanca is the decor.  They always get lovely during the Christmas season.

Sort of in the center of the restaurant is a huge tree with huge ornaments.

They even wrapped a bunch of fake presents to put under the tree and all around the restaurant.
Or who knows? Maybe they're reeeeeeeeaaaaaal :O
After dinner, it was time to go search for a book at Barnes&Noble, which translates to Marble Mocha Macchiato and Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake.

IT TASTED LIKE A DREAM COMING TRUE IN MY MOUTH.
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆

Last week Grimmty and I went to Korea House, which was leaps and bounds beyond ☆fantastic☆, as usual.

Photographing this food is always particularly difficult, as we're usually attacking the plates before they even land on the table.  Poor waitresses D:

Kimbap, descended from the heavens. It somehow seemed extra extra delicious this time.  I thought I was gonna pass out from the amazingness.
PaJjeon and banchan.  Sorry about the blurry photo, my other hand was too busy EATING to hold the camera steady.
Here they actually brought us the wrong dish first.  It looked and smelled great, but we couldn't eat it because it was fire.  Rather than sending it back, though, we just re-ordered what we wanted, and took this to our friend.  Everybody wins!☆

Tofu and Kimchi

Ahhhh ~ that's all for today!
