Around the House: Moving the Workshop Pt.1

Moving the Workshop, Pt. 1

So...we're super excited about these summer collections we've already got lined up, and still have some things to finish up for spring.  The creative juices are totally flowing and we're super pumped--

--Buuuuuuuuuut first thing's first: gotta get organized!  As we mentioned in our first post of 2015, we're moving our workshop again.  It will still be at Grimmy's place, but we're going from the smallest room in the house to the biggest. It's very exciting getting to arrange and decorate the new room, and we definitely need the space, but we know it's gonna be a lot of hard work, too.

Some things we'll definitely have to do:
     - take down and re-install wall-shelving
     - move free-standing shelf cases
     - move our huge ridiculous solid-oak-or-something table, unless we find a replacement first
     - make curtains for the new room

Some things we'll probably do or want to do:
     - paint walls and other solid surfaces
     - reupholster furniture
     - build/assemble some custom fixtures

And, of course we gotta do some shopping...
     - some cute, but most importantly ergonomic chairs
     - some frames to display awesome art we've accumulated
     - cork boards and dry erase boards

Eventually, after we get the basics sorted, we'll round things out with cute office utilities and trinkets (because we don't have enough trinkets), but one step at a time...

We've got our classic hch playlist pumped up, chock full of high-energy essentials like Perfume and Capsule, and we're ready to make some waves.  Coming out of the holidays, it's been a bit difficult to gauge progress, but hopefully we'll soon be able to bust out the 2015 calendar and make plans!

New Year! New Candy!

We hope you dolls have had a lovely holiday season--whether you were hard at work or hard at play. We've been absent from blogging for ages upon ages, but we're back.  2014 showed us many challenges and changes, and we've decided to hit 2015 with a new approach.  We always have so may ambitions and usually overburden ourselves, only to underdeliver in the end.  So this year, we're going to make a plan--we're setting some resolutions!  We hope you'll help hold us to them!

That's right--our number one resolution for 2015 is to blog more.  While we're not the most interesting people on the internet, we typically do have something going on worth note.  We just fail at communicating.  But we definitely want to start sharing more!  So, we've vowed to spill the beans on a more regular basis!  It'll be slow at first, but we've already got some fun ideas for columns that we hope you'll find interesting as well.  Also, along with taking our blogging more seriously, we might also be looking at moving the blog, but that's definitely months away, if it does happen.

Now this is always something big:  cleaning and organization.  We like to rearrange and change things up every now and then, just to keep things fresh, but overall, we still have a lot to improve in terms of organization.  Everything can stand to be more organized--from our administrative documents, to our craft supplies, to our networking and communication strategies.  One thing we currently have underway is moving the workshop again. It seems like we move it a lot, but this time we'll be in our largest space yet, and we're super excited!  It will certainly be a lot of work--to probably include painting, reupholstering, and building new fixtures-- but we're totally committed to making the most of this new space!  And in line with our first resolution, we plan to keep you posted on our progress!

Lastly, what's really gonna help us get it together is to plan ahead. We always have a ton of awesome ideas, but inspiration usually strikes late. We want to do a better job of getting prepared well enough in advance so that we can bring our dreams to life properly.  Since we do work best under pressure, this does mean that some ideas will just have to be well documented and saved for the future, but that's still something.  So far, we've already started gearing up for our new summer collections, something we historically haven't started working on until usually the first month of summer XD

So those are our three commitments for 2015.  We hope you'll help keep us in check through your support and feedback!

What are your New Year's Resolutions?
